Beginning on April 11, 2011, the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) will begin Phase 1 of a construction project for the Davis Square Busway, located behind the Rite Aid on Highland Avenue. Phase 1 of the project, which is scheduled to last approximately one month, will impact pedestrians in this area.
Pedestrians will be detoured along Grove Street and College Ave. via Highland Ave. Detour signs will be posted in these areas for pedestrians, and MBTA and Somerville Police details will be on site. A lane of travel for buses will remain open at all times, however no pedestrian access will be allowed during this first phase. If you have any questions, please call 311.
